Case studies

Several clinical studies have shown that up to 75% of reusable tourniquets could be contaminated with potentially life threatening organisms, including MRSA, HIV and Hepatitis C.

In one study conducted in Australia, the overall bacterial colonization rate on 100 tourniquets collected was 78% and of those, multi-resistant organisms or MROs were found on 25%.

Single-use tourniquets offer the best solution in the fight to protect staff and patients from hospital-borne infections.
